I don't have any of these type of guns. I will be interesting to see what you come up with when you are ready to purchase one.

I don't have anything like that either. I do have a SKS that uses the 7.62 X 39.

Yea I have looked into SKS's and it is hard to find a good quality one for a good price. What do you have, a type 56?

Yeah Sid those sks are tons of fun! I have a neighbor that used to buy those for 90$ a piece! They are reliable and tough guns.

I got my SKS about 20 years ago and I think it was about $95 back then. I have the folding stock and 40 round clips for it. I have put a few hundred rounds through it but not any in the last few years. I did re-blue it a couple of years ago.

Does it lock back if you pull the bolt to the rear when the magazine is empty? I have heard that ak's don't but i have never had much time with an sks.

If my memory serves me right it does lock back with the last round. It kicks out the brass harder and farther than anything I have shot!

I know that AR's and pistols do and most semi-auto's do. Ruger mini 14's don't lock back on their own. You have to pull the bolt back and press a button, then it locks back. I would like to see that sks sometime Sid.

Wow! You really customized that! So let me see what you have. You've got a synthetic side folder stock, a detachable 40 round mag and a pistol grip right? Most people don't put much time into making the guns they own fit their style.
That looks really good Sid!
