Well here we are again. Yesterday we went to PA to Lake Wilhelm in Mercer county. It was a day of mixed weather from rain to sunshine but durring the sunny times we were able to capture some nice scenes and a little bit of wildlife on camera. If you look at this first picture closely you will a Great Blue Heron about the middle of the picture. As we got closer my wife continued to snap his picture. We changed lenses for this next picture. We were in the car for these first pictures, so I drove on past where he was and out of sight, then I walked back and stepped carefully around the bushes and began taking his picture again. After taking a bunch of pictures I tried to step a bit closer on to a rock but he saw me and off he flew with very loud squawking as he went across the lake. Here are some more pictures of the lake. Here is another Great Blue Heron. Then last of all I captured this Wood Chuck. We had a great day and were able to take lots of pictures. It is always a great day spent with my wonderful Lady; my wife of almost 37 years who is my best friend. Hope you all enjoy my pics as I am out and about.

I don't hunt ducks, and I really dont' know how to tell them apart but is there a "blue teal"? I think there is, but I'am not sure. Those look good Rohn. You will have to keep us updated on the turtle hooks you have out there.

Was out to a pond checking turtle hooks today and this is what we saw near the pond. I believe it is a box turtle. He pulled himself into his shell when he saw us, so I flipped him over and too the next picture. He was about 9 inches from front to back. We did put him back on his belly before we left. Maybe soon we will catch another snapper.

From what I see it is a slider of some sort. We have tons of box turtles but I have never seen one in the water, plus that one is marked on its legs and head. Does it have yellow patches behind it "ears"?

I am not sure about the yellow patches behind its ears because it would not stick its head out. It may not be a box turtle. It was not in the water but in the grass. I don't know my turtles apart from snappers.

Yesterday me and my grandpa were out fishing at his pond and here snagged a nice turtle by the foot, one about the same size as that one you show here. It was pretty interesting to catch a turtle on a no. 4 eagle claw.

I'll bet that was fun bringing him in. Did he put up a fight?

Not much of a fight, more of a drag. Reels were not meant to drag in turtles I think.

Was out again the other day and thought I'd share a few pictures again. This fence is along the trail where we sometimes walk. It looks harmless enough. But under the top rail this is what we found. We also saw this train coming along going over a bridge we were near. I also snapped a couple pictures of the cattails. Won't be long until the summer growth will began to change color and the leaves begin to fall, then HUNTING SEASON will be here. We are all waiting for that I'm sure. Squirrel season begins the first of September here in OH. Look out Squirrels, here I come!

Those are real nice pictures. I can't wait for squirrel season to start. This year I am gonna try to get some and vacuum pack them. Maybe be able to have some squirrel in the summer. What is your favorite gun to use?

I usually use a 12 gauge shotgun or a .22 revolver. If I'm hunting near the city it's a shotgun, out away from the population I like the revolver. I have a Ruger Single Six with a 6 1/2 inch barrel that works great, and also an old H&R nine shot with flat sides on the barrel and it is a great little revolver.
