I don't know about you guys, but I can't stand to read any of the revised codes. If I read for three minutes I can find at least ten or twenty violations of our bill of rights.
I think we really need to stop these laws. I read the ORC for five minutes and it makes me sick. I read somewhere where it prohibits selling a gun to someone who plans to furnish it to a minor.
Hasn't every single person you've know done that?
Every gun you buy for your kids for their birthday or Christmas or whatever is illegal, and could land you in prison for years.
That is wrong!
I can't see how anyone lives with these laws, seeing how widely unconstitutional (and not to mention common) they are.
I can't live with this any longer. We have to change these illegal laws.
That's what they are. I used to think we shouldn't have a article V convention. But I think it's time.
We not only need to repeal certain amendments (Taxation without respect to an enumeration or census, etc.),
but we need to add a few amendments.
I would like to see an expansion of the bill of rights, including a recognition of our rights mentioned in declaration (Right to replace or reform government, without it's consent), and one more.
What would you guys think of a new amendment in the constitution that recognizes state's preemption over federal laws in all cases except where it violates the bill of rights or where the government has an explicit power outlined in article one, section eight of the US constitution.
Something to the tune of...
"State law shall preempt federal law in all cases, except where it is in violation of the rights of the people as outlined in the first through tenth amendments, or where federal power is explicitly authorized in Article one, Section eight of the United Stated constitution. Any agents of the government found to be guilty of violation of this amendment shall be tried according to their offense by the state where the offense was committed."
What is your opinion?
I know it is basically a reaffirmation of the tenth amendment, but I think it is necessary.
