Thanks for posting that Sid! That was a wonderful article. I didn't realize that the Browning High Power was the first handgun to utilize the double stack/side by side magazines. I personally prefer the feel of a M9/92fs over the Glock pistols I have held. I've actually been saving up for a Beretta 92 for while now. I bet the 1911 fanboys are ticked about this! I like 1911s too though. They are very accurate, very durable, and feel so natural in your hand. They were really ahead of their time. The main thing that I have against 1911s is the fact that you can only have 7 or 8 rounds in it's flush fit magazines. I think 45acp is a great combat cartridge because of the massive amount of stopping power it has. But I guess militaries are going towards high capacity, not stopping power. Anyhow, I am a 92fs guy. I love everything there is about the Beretta. I say Beretta is the way to go. Justin

That is a good article. Of the guns featured in the article which one do you guys prefer? I am more of a USP 45 nut. I like the looks of them quite a bit.

A USP 45 would be my choice of a 45acp combat pistol also. They are very reliable.
But which of the 4 ones in the article would you choose?

Very interesting article Sid. Thanks.
I can't pick a favorite of one of those four guns. If I was going to buy a 1911 .45 ACP today it would not be one of those. Just my personal likes. I have another make picked out. I did enjoy the article though. I never hurts to learn a bit about gun history.

I like the Glock best of those but don't have one. My goto is a S&W 9 MM.

Glock vs 1911 But I guess when it comes down to it I'm a 1911 dude too. What model of S&W is your 9? Justin

A USP 45 would be my choice of a 45acp combat pistol also. They are very reliable. But which of the 4 ones in the article would you choose? No need to compromise. If I had to choose one though I like the looks and feel of a M9A1 over the high power. Glocks are just too ugly in my tastes. I have heard of an Heckler and Koch USP going to 297,000 rounds and it was still going strong. If I could at possible I'd acquire a USP. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heckler_&_Koch_USP
