Here are a few knives I have collected over the years. I try to keep them very sharp. The flay knives are the ones i use the most - everything from cutting up venison, butchering chickens and turkeys, to cutting veggies for the canner. I really like them and sometimes I even get to flay fish with them. Looks like I need to get busy and make a couple more sheaths.

Nice collection Rohn. How many of the sheaths did you make? I have a old hunting knife I need to post that I have had for 52 years.

Those are some nice knives Rohn. Do some of those have leather handles? I know the Eastwing hatchet has one.

I made the sheath on the far left, as you can see the stitches are not all that even. I reconditioned the one next to it and replaced the leather clasp.
The smallest one (far left) is a Case xx with a leather handle, and the third one in is a leather handle.
I also have quite a few pocket knives. I have carried a pocket knife or two since I have been about 9 years old. I can never remember having been without one or two in my pocket since then. I suppose now I would be in big trouble for caring it to school but back then no body thought anything of it.

The old hunting knife I have, I won it at school in the 5th grade for selling magazines. Things sure have changed. Sid

Case is a good brand. Another good brand that I like is schrade. I use a schrade for hunting. Yeah if you brought a little pocket knife to school nowadays, you could get charged with concealing a "deadly weapon". It's crazy! Justin

Nice collection there. I am a serious knife person too . That is a nice sheath. You do some good leatherwork. They would probably get you for carrying those in school. I saw they got some kid for a boy scout knife with a 2 and 1/4 blade, so those people would hate to see what kind of blades I got .Yea, "deadly weapon" or worse, "conspiracy to commit murder" or some BS like that . can't do anything these days

Nice knife Jason. I also like Schrade knives, in fact I carry one with me every day. Here it is: I also carry a Buck knife all the time. This one I have carried every day for 20+ years. Knives are great tools and I can't imagine not having one in my pocket at all times.

Those are good knives. I have a buck pocket knife also. That Schrade you have looks like an Old Timer I have. The knife I carry with me is a Gerber Obsidian. I like this knife a-lot. It's very well made. It has a pocket clip, and a locking blade. As you can see I have put some miles on this knife. Justin

That is also a nice knife Jason. Is it an assisted opening or fully automatic? I have an automatic BenchMade knife that I'll try to post in a couple of days. I carry it occasionally. Yes, your knife does look like it has had some miles on it, but it is still in great shape. If they are taken care of they will usually last a lifetime. Look at my Buck knife, it is well worn but still has many years of service left.

It's an assisted opening. But I'm good enough with it that I can open and close it with one hand fairly quickly. I've never had an automatic. It would be handy though. Yeah this one has a bunch of years of work ahead of it. I'll just have to keep it sharp.
I would like to see your automatic.

Don't you just open that knife by flipping it open? Or is it spring loaded?

Don't you just open that knife by flipping it open? Or is it spring loaded? I guess it's not technically what you would call assisted opening, but, it has a little button that helps me.
