An old friend of my Dad's gave this to him. Here's a shot of the headstamp. To show you exactly how huge this round is, compare it to these other cartridges. From the left to the right. 76mm, .50 BMG, 12 gauge, 7.62x54r, 223 Remington, 9mm luger, 380ACP, and finally 22lr. What do you guys think about this? Does anybody have any info on this? Justin

Nice old BIG round. If you do a Google search for 76 mm gun M1 AMMO you will get a lot of links.

The headstamp says 1945 on it so It was most likely made for use in WW2.

I believe used for the Sherman tank gun in WWII. Cool.
