Ohio had an early muzzleloader season the week before last. I don't know about you guys, but if it is 68 degrees outside, I don't feel like hunting . Today, however was a different story. We saw some frost and the wind is blowing. I see it is almost time for deer season. Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to go squirrel hunting. But It is a lot more appealing to go hunting when it is about 35 degrees, as compared to 70, don't you think? So has anyone here had any luck this year hunting?

I couldn't agree with you more about the cold weather and hunting. I did not go deer hunting during the short muzzle-loader season because of the same reason - too warm. I haven't been squirrel hunting either. I have been too busy with other things. We bought 40 bushels of apples 20 of them ours and 20 went to other family members. So the bottom line is we had 20 bushel to put up. We made apple butter in our big copper kettle outside - 69 quarts, put 13 pies in the freezer, dried a bunch in the dehydrator and froze some, put up 73 quarts of applesauce. We finally gave away about 3/4 of a bushel so we wouldn't have to deal with them anymore. Now maybe I'll have time to concentrate more on the important things like hunting.

20 bushels, wow. My grandpa has two apple trees and he got about that amount, so we got about 4 or 5 bushels. What variety(s) did you get?

I can't wait until gun season. I'm dying to get out there.

20 bushels, wow. My grandpa has two apple trees and he got about that amount, so we got about 4 or 5 bushels. What variety(s) did you get? They were mixed and considered "juice" apples. I know there were some yellow delicious, cortland, granny smith, and I'm not sure what else. $3.50 a bushel but you must take 20 bushel.

That is a good price. Sounds good. I really like yellow delicious. One of my favorites.
