Here is a few pictures of a recent trip to the Ohio history museum. Hope you guys enjoy them.
Here is the front of the building as seen from the parking lot of the Ohio village. The museum is downstairs.
After you pay the admission you see the ten foot tall mastadon found in Cuyahoga county Ohio. The tusks you see are replicas. The originals were on the ground in front, but I did not get a picture of them. The tusks are about eight foot long and weigh 100 lbs each.
Here is Justin in the 1950's area by the old car (I didn't get the name plate. ) with an airstream trailor parked behind it. The car does not have a hitch on it, so they just parked them as close as possible.
Here is the M1A from the Vietnam War area. It shows a M1A, Remington 1911 .45, Vietnam Medal, m10 gas mask and bag, various southeast Asian service medals, and an item(s) I was unable to identify.
Here is also pictured a desk from the early 1800's made from tiger maple.
If any of you guys have ever been there, you know that these are only a few displays of the 1000's museum. Here is a list of the areas in the museum:
Natural history (Contains animal, mineral, botanical, and weather displays.
Native American
1950's exhibits
Ohio union flag display (Includes other civil war items) Temporary.
Mechanical displays (Awesome)
General Ohio history (Includes 1700's, 1800's, and early 1900's history.
The admission is only $10 per person (Free for Ohio historical society members). It is the first time I have ever been there, and I would highly recommend it.
